Pakyawan – wholesale buying
“Pakyawan” is such a popular term whenever my mom would buy anything in Divisoria (a big public market located in Metro Manila where you can buy anything and everything). Given that goods here are very low priced, when you buy pakyawan style, the price just gets ridiculously lower.
I was surfing through the net when I came upon a post from one of my favorite blogs (Kikay Exchange) regarding websites that offer group coupons. One is BUYanihan and the other is Ensogo. So how does this work? It builds upon then concept of pakyawan. The site will offer store coupon deals (for restaurants, spas, salons, etc) with big discounts and a specific quota of buyers. If the quota is reached and you’re one of the coupon buyer, you’ll enjoy big discounts (some more than 6o%). If the quota is not reached, the promo is forfeited. Buyers are charged only when the deal pushes through. So instead of the goods being bought pakyawan by a single person, the discount deal is the one who needs to “collect” the buyers pakyawan style. Isn’t that brilliant!
In this digital world of ours, it’s not really that surprising that enterprising individuals will find a way to bring the pakyawan system into the internet and these two websites are proof of that. Check them out and enjoy your (discount deals) shopping.
