With barely 2hrs of sleep, we were off early (as in 2:30am early) to Clark Air Fields just so we’ll be able to watch the Hotair Balloon Fiesta participants inflate and launch their balloon. I have to say, if you’re not a big fan of photography you might just get bored standing there, waiting for the darn balloons to inflate and take off. Can’t really take exceptional picture unless you have a photographer’s pass (i think it’s so you can go near the balloons while they inflate) or a bad*ass telephoto lens attached to your dslr. For me, it’s all in the experience. It was indeed something to wake up in the wee hours of the morning, stand on a grassy field and freeze my *ss off waiting for the balloonist to take off… but I don’t think I’ll be back again soon. Maybe in a few years, then I’ll opt to shell out big bucks (around 7k++) to experience my own hotair balloon ride.
